June in Lexington brings long days, live music, and a full lineup of summer events across the city. 

Railbird Festival (June 6–7) kicks off the month with unforgettable performances in the heart of the Bluegrass, followed by Spirit in the Bluegrass Music Fest (June 10–13) at the Kentucky Horse Park. The Week of Play (June 9–13) brings hands-on fun for families at the Lexington Children's Museum, while Lexington Legends and Lexington Sporting Club games keep the energy going all month long.

From festivals and family fun to free community events and summer traditions, Lexington is packed with ways to make it a memorable summer. 

Celebrate Juneteenth in Lexington with a month of events honoring Black history, culture, and community.

Experience SoulFeast Week (June 18–28), featuring Kentucky Black Restaurant Week and celebrations highlighting Lexington's Black-owned culinary scene. Discover powerful storytelling at the 21st Annual Juneteenth Jubilee, "Crossroads in History: Campfire Stories of United States Colored Troops" (June 17) at African Cemetery No. 2, and join the Say It Loud Juneteenth Festival (June 19) at Lyric Theatre, with live music, dancing, local vendors, food, and art.

Year-round, explore Lexington’s Black heritage through the African American Heritage Walking Tour—a self-guided experience highlighting the people and places that shaped Lexington's history— and visit Camp Nelson National Monument, a Civil War site preserving the legacy of African American soldiers and their families.

Celebrate African culture at the 5th Annual Swahili Day on June 13 from 2-8 pm at Gatton Park. This family-friendly festival honors the Swahili language and African communities that call Kentucky home.

Getting around Lexington is easier with LexRide, Lextran's new seasonal shuttle connecting Downtown Lexington, the Distillery District, and the Warehouse Block/National Avenue.

Rides are only $1, and the ADA-compliant shuttle runs Thursday through Saturday from 4 pm to midnight, April through October, with service every 12 to 15 minutes.
